Herp Day at UGA
S&H Exotics is proud to support Herp Day on the Lawn at UGA. This is a wonderful outreach program on the lawn in front of the Warnell School of Forestry at The University of Georgia. We take several snakes from the permanent collection and give students an opportunity to hold the snakes and learn about them.

Education and outreach are at the core of our mission. We always make time to help people learn about snakes.
About us
Cary, a biologist and science educator. He is retired from the Gwinnett County School System and now teaches at Brenau University. Alex is a graduate of UGA and is pursuing a PhD in biology at the Univeristy of Alabama Birmingham. Our small scale operation revolves around caring for and consistently learning about our animals, so that we can improve their lives with us and with you. This allows us to give each our animals more attention to in the end give you an animal that has been extensively cared for. We are focused on helping others in the community learn more about the animals we enjoy caring for. Our collection started as just 3 snakes and then our collection, as well as our passion for our animals grew. Now our collection is one that we cherish and have been successful breeding. We hope to educate and inspire others so they can have the same joy that we do working with reptiles.

Helpful Tip
Remember when you purchase a new snake always quarantine it away from your other animals for a couple of weeks until you are sure that the new addition is clear of parasites like mites, has eaten, and has had a little time to acclimate to a new home.
DIY Projects
Our snakes have recently moved to their new homes in our new rack. We built this rack around the ARS 70 series tub. Interested in what we did? Send us an email and we will be glad to share it.
The maternity rack for rats has been completed and is in full use. It's a welcome addition to the rodent room and has improved production. Pregnant females are moved to the maternity rack to have their litters safely. Interested in what we did? Send us an email and we will be happy to share.
